Everyone in eDemocracy DAO will be a unique human - establishing this is the very first step of becoming a Citizen.

Citizen

This refers to a person who has joined eDemocracy DAO. There is no fee to become a Citizen of eDemocracy DAO. Citizens can:

Any human can apply to be a Citizen and humanity is sufficient for admission. Human members must establish human identity and agree to co-op terms.

Our goal is to have the Citizen that is representative of the general public in terms of not just demographics, but political orientation. Our outreach and recruitment efforts should be aimed at having a diverse and representative citizenship

People participating in eDemocracy DAO can have various roles, which will be represented as NFTs that they carry in their wallet - and which is also recorded in the eDemocracy DAO register.

Member

Any Citizen can apply to become a Member of eDemocracy Coop, and participate in the operations and management of eDemocracy DAO. Members must complete the Membership Application form, pay the $10 Membership fee (payable in cash or Thelo) and they receive a non-transferable Membership NFT depicting a “folding chair” which gives them access to Member channels. Members can:

There are two categories of Member:

  1. New Member

A New Member is anyone who has not yet contributed the equivalent of 50 hours of time and attention into the DAO. New Members may also be restricted in the types of roles they can undertake and roles they can play. New Members can purchase Klismos, but only with funds they have earned through their work. They cannot invest in Klismos with other funds.

New Members may also be limited in their eligibility to participate in governance decisions such as elections to the Board of Directors; the Coop can set a waiting period of up to 3 months before New Members can vote in elections.

  2. Full Member

A Full Member is any Member who has dedicated a “significant time and effort” towards the cooperative. The Board may set this threshold from time to time, but for now this is defined as meaning 50 hours work of work or a special dispensation from the Membership Committee.

Full Members qualify as “consultants” under the Security Exchange Commission’s definition of “consultant” and can purchase as many Klismos as they want. They are further able to participate in all governance and work activities.

Each Member will have a profile page viewable to other Members. Their chair will be displayed on this page.
